Ladbrokes Plc is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LAD), the company was  demerged from the Hilton Hotel Corporation on 23rd February 2006. Ladbrokes owns over 2000 high street Ladbrokes betting shops being the UK and Irelands largest off track bookmaker. It is also one of the world largest telephone betting operators. 
Ladbrokes has online presence with Ladbrokes SportsbookLadbrokes Casino, Ladrokes Poker Room, Poker Million, Ladbrokes Games, and a joint ventures with Playboy Sportsbook and Playboy Casino.

In an Interim Management statement Ladbrokes said that profits for the first four months of 2008 had increased by 13%, but High Roller telephone profits had recently fallen.

Announced results to year ending 31st December 2007
Turnover 1,235m (2006 947m) Profit up 60.2% to £420.0 million (2006 £262.2 million). Earnings per share 47.4 pence (2006 21.7 pence).  Dividend of 9.05 pence per share (up 5.2%). Profit was helped by a buoyant performance from Telephone Betting

Acquired Eastwood Bookmakers, Northern Ireland’s largest bookmaker, for a consideration of £117.5 million. The
acquisition of the 54 Eastwood shops will take Ladbrokes to 70 shops in Northern Ireland and makes  Ladbrokes  the biggest bookmaker in Northern Ireland. With shops in each province Antrim, Armargh, Derry, Dwon, Fermanagh and Tyrone

2nd January 2008
Announced a joint venture with Alphameric to host Turf Tv in each of its 2,000 betting shops . The contract will run for five years. Coral announced a similar deal last week, Betfred and William Hill are yet to sign.

In a trading update Ladbrokes said Profit from continuing operations for the  four months ended 31 October 2007 increased by 84% reflecting continued contribution from Telephone High Rollers, which significantly offset a below target performance in the UK Retail business. Profit excluding High Rollers and the cost of the  recent TV advertising campaign decreased by 12%.

Ladbrokes sells its Vernons football pools business to Sportech (SPO) for £51 Million, £45 million will be payable on completion and a further £3 million in each of the two years following completion.

Announced half year results to 30th June 2007
Boosted by High roller telephone accounts and a lower tax charge
Turnover increased to 601milion (2006 502 million), profit decreased to 156 million (2006 159 million), Earnings per share increased to 20.9p (2006 10.7p), Dividend increased to 4.85p (2006 4.60p)
On 22nd January 2007 Ladbrokes announced it had acquired Sponsio Ltd a previous betting and gaming partner in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The acquisition will strengthen Ladbrokes position in Scandinavia where per capita spend on online gaming market is amongst the highest in Europe. There will be  initial consideration of £36 million  for Sportio Ltd  and an additional £4 million dependant on future profits.
On 8th January 2007 Ladbrokes signed a joint venture with Circa Slot a leading player in the Spanish slot machine market. Ladbrokes together with Circa Slot will apply for new betting licences in Madrid in dedicated betting shops, kiosks and remote betting, which will give Ladbrokes a massive presence in Spain

Ladbrokes announced on 24th August 2006 a Joint venture in Italy. Ladbrokes has secured a joint venture with Italian bookmaker Pianetta Scommesse. The move is the first step in a planned £100 million investment in Italy over the next five years, to establish high street shops, non dedicated outlets, Internet and telephone operations. Ladbrkes will secure a 51% stake in the venture for a consideration of 1.3 Million EURO to be paid in stages to Controlle Pianneta Scommesse Italia.  Which will secure Ladbrokes as an accredited provider of betting shop services in Italy.

On 10 July 2006 Ladbrokes announced the opening of its land based Casino The Ladbrokes Casino and Sports Bar at the London Paddington Hilton after a £5 million development.
